I bought this pocket book in the gift shop in Mammoth Cave visitor center in Kentucky before our tour starts in “mammoth cave.” I bought this pocket book since I wanted to know more about rocks, gems and minerals. I am not a mineral collector but I wanted to read this interesting book and I bought this $6.95. It seems an interesting book and it is revised and updated. It is a handy one and by reading this tiny book makes me learn most common kinds of rocks, and minerals offers concise and fascinating information on physical and chemical properties, origins and geologic significance, gems and semiprecious stones, how to find and collect specimens.
